Carines Bridal Atelier Logo your aisle is our runway

Just a few weeks ago, we at Carine’s Bridal Atelier made our way up to New York for Bridal Fashion Week. It was a whirlwind of new, beautiful white gowns, and although we were exhausted by the end, we loved every minute of it. The Fall 2018 bridal collections were all incredible. After seeing the dresses on the runway, we couldn’t wait for our market appointments to see them up close. One thing we noticed this year in particular was that the designers seemed to be all about the details. Below, find some of our favorite detailed pieces from the newest bridal collections.

Every season, we at Carine’s Bridal Atelier look forward to attending Bridal Fashion Week in New York. It’s amazing to be able see all the designers and their incredible shows. One thing we always love doing is spotting trends in the new collections. When you spend all day around wedding dresses, you get excited to see new ideas – especially when you can start visualizing different types of brides in them. A trend that was all over the runway this season was high necklines. While there were some that were simple bateau necks, we noticed that a lot of designers played around with the traditionally conservative look, adding lace, beading, and cut-outs. Below are some of our favorite high-necked dresses from this season:

Let’s face it – most of us have tried to lose weight before a big event at some point in our lives. Between juice cleanses, gluten-free/dairy-free detoxes, and the ‘bone broth only’ diet, things can get pretty chaotic.

Here at Carine’s Bridal Atelier, we believe that in order to look and feel your best, you have to take care of yourself on the inside and out. What you put into your body not only affects how you look, but can also impact things such as your energy levels and metabolism. And while it can be tempting to try a crash diet, the best way to do this is lead a consistently healthy lifestyle.

One of our favorite places to go when we want something healthy – and yummy – is South Block Juice Co. Located on Grace Street in Georgetown, South Block Juice Co. has an amazing selection of healthy foods such as açai bowls, pressed juices, smoothies and snacks.  Need some help deciding? Below are some of our favorite items:

PB & J Açai Bowl: This smoothie bowl is an incredible blend of açai, peanut butter, bananas, blueberries, and almond milk topped with granola, blueberries and bananas. For extra protein to keep us full, we like to add hemp hearts and a scoop of plant protein powder.

Super Green Smoothie: On the days where we need to eat some greens but don’t feel like ordering a salad, we usually opt for the super green smoothie. It’s made with pineapple juice, kale, spinach, mangos and bananas. The fruit cuts through the taste of the spinach and kale, so even though it looks green, it tastes just like a tropical drink.

Avocado Toast: A classic, but one that is exceptionally good at South Block Co. Something we love to do is add bee pollen on top – it might sound weird, but it compliments the avocado and is great for added nutrition.

In this month’s newsletter we featured MBK Photography and we have always loved working with Michael! Recently, we collaborated on an inspirational shoot at the historic Anderson House. The mood for the shoot was centered around vintage glamour inspired by the grandeur and romance of Anderson House. The first gown pictured, with long sleeves, is by Berta Bridal. The second gown is a strapless mermaid style by Inbal Dror… enjoy!

Happy Easter to all of our past, current, and future brides – and to all of our family and friends! As the weather has begun to warm up in the DC area, we have also begun to sport some pastel hues in our everyday wear here at CBA. We love the ideas of incorporating such hues in a Spring wedding. So with that in mind, check out the inspiration boards that we have created to touch on of the soft, muted, vibe of this holiday:
