Carine began her career in fashion over 10 years ago when she moved to New York City to join the design team at AEFFE (the parent company of Moschino, Jean Paul Gaultier and Alberta Ferretti). When family concerns brought her back to Washington DC, she began working with Vera Wang, and was eventually hired away to Priscilla of Boston. After local success and recognition, and as her reputation grew, she was courted to Saks Fifth Avenue in Tyson's Corner to head the bridal salon.
Carine's position at DC salons afforded her the opportunity to interface with the design community in NYC. Twice yearly the industry gathers for bridal fashion week where there are fashion shows, runways, models and designer parties. Carine attended every one, where it was her job to hand-select wedding dresses off of the runway to carry in store. Over the years she developed close relationships with some of her favorite designers, and made many friends at salons in New York City and across the country. Carine noticed that there was a big difference between the typical bridal salon in New York and the typical bridal salon in DC. New York bridal salons tended to be more sophisticated, the staff more knowledgeable (often with a background in design), and the collection of dresses larger. Carine felt that with her experience, contacts, and vision, she could bring the look and feel of a New York City salon to the Mid-Atlantic.
JESSICA STANISStore Manager
Jessica's passion for weddings began at the early age of 12 when she would read wedding magazines and sketch gown ideas. She developed her expertise on weddings at the College of Charleston, SC while working with the esteemed Calder Clark luxury event planning team. After moving home to northern Virginia, a fateful fete (and a great pair of DVF shoes) brought Carine and Jessica together. Jessica believes bridal stylists work much like matchmakers, finding the right gown, for the right bride, at the right time.

MADDIE KAUFMANNMarketing and PR Director
Maddie Kaufmann brings a fresh, friendly and fashion-forward approach as Carine's Marketing and PR Director. Maddie was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland and attended the College of Charleston in South Carolina where she graduated with a degree in Business Leadership and Sociology. While living in Charleston, Maddie worked for Charleston Fashion Week as their Runway Coordinator, liaising between designers, models and production. After college, Maddie began working in luxury real estate as a Marketing Manager with the prestigious firm, Washington Fine Properties, but eventually honed in on her love for bridal when she married her high school sweetheart in Washington, DC. Maddie has helped Carine's Bridal + Carine's Aisle grow - and has helped launch Maison de Carine, our sister tabletop company. Maddie has been with Carine's for over 5 years and enjoys the fast-paced, ever-changing world of weddings and events.
BRIANA ABEDISenior Stylist
Briana was born and raised in Potomac, Maryland. Her family owns several luxury retail boutiques throughout the D.C. area and her eye for fashion developed at an early age. Briana graduated from the University of Maryland. During her studies, she worked in sales at a high-end children’s boutique, quickly becoming a buyer and soon after, a manager. She took her client skills on to work at Neiman Marcus, but missed the intimate feel of a smaller boutique. After venturing into the bridal realm, she found her niche at Carine's Bridal Atelier. Briana has an innate instinct for, not only pairing brides with the perfect gown, but putting them at ease with her calm and empathetic nature
AMBER FERNANDEZBridal Stylist
Amber comes all the way from the San Francisco Bay Area with just over nine years of bridal experience. Amber has worked in top boutiques nationwide, including Priscilla of Boston, Glamour Closet, Roma Sposa, and most recently Marina Morrison. She’s dabbled in everything from alterations to bridal styling.. even as a traveling representative for the renowned designer Lihi Hod! After recently relocating to DC with her soon to be husband, Amber brings all of her talent and knowledge to our team.
MARYBETH ANDERSONBridal Stylist
Maribeth Anderson brings a fresh, exciting energy to Carine's Bridal as a couture stylist. Maribeth was raised in New Jersey where she worked her way up to Management at Saks Fifth Avenue. After getting married to her true soulmate, Maribeth moved to the DC area and found her passion for home design and luxury real estate. After six years in title and settlement work with a prestigious firm in DC (and several home renovations and design projects later!), Maribeth came back to the fashion industry at Carine's. Maribeth lives in Georgetown with her husband and two beloved Lhasa Apso dogs.
LIZ IWANSKIBridal Stylist at Carine's Aisle
Liz is a recent University of Alabama graduate who focused her studies in Fashion Merchandising. While finishing up her degree she had found her passion for bridal while working up in NYC at Kleinfeld. Her knowledge from the fast paced and large volume store of Kleinfeld enables her to think quick on her feet and be detail oriented when it comes to finding brides their perfect gown. She found herself wanting a more intimate setting in a thriving business in the bridal industry and is why she is with us today.
KELSEY FOLEYExecutive Assistant
Kelsey attended Liberty University and, throughout her studies, worked with New York Fashion Week and DC Fashion Week. By the time she graduated, Kelsey's experience with backstage production and a passion for fashion took her to New York City. After much success in NYC, Kelsey moved to Washington, DC to open a bridesmaids pop-up shop. Kelsey came to Carine's in 2018 and quickly became an important part of the day to day flow and overall growth of Carine's Bridal, Carine's Aisle and Maison de Carine as our Executive Assistant.
