We were thrilled when we saw our bride Nicole Marriott was featured in Grace Ormonde’s fall/winter 2014 issue! It was such a pleasure to work with Nicole and her family through her bridal gown experience. Nicole wore a Liancarlo gown and a custom Monique Lhuillier skirt. Her and her husband, Maxwell Avery met in a college English class in 2006.They were married seven years later on April 27, 2013 at the Washington National Cathedral and celebrated their reception at the Corcoran Gallery of Art.

Congratulations to Lena, who was married at the Sheraton Pentagon City. Lena looked stunning in a Badgley Mischka gown with a custom neckline. We love the gorgeous beaded capped sleeve on this gown, especially with an updo like Lena’s. The CBA girls wish you lots of love and happiness in the future!

This week, we are featuring Cathryn, a gorgeous bride wearing a shell colored lace and tulle Liancarlo gown. Cathryn was such a pleasure to work with and it was clear that, throughout the planning process, she had a distinct eye for style. We were blown away when we saw these photos captured by Modern Life Portraits, at the magnificent St. Matthew’s Cathedral with a reception following at the Decatur House. Kudos to  A. Dominick Events for helping to make Cathryn’s vision come true!
Congratulations, Cathryn!

Talk about a stunning bride and family! Lili’s magical wedding day took place at Salamander Resort in Middleburg, Va over Columbus Day weekend in October. The wedding united Lili and her husbands families and five(!) boys. Lili wore Monique Lhuillier “Peony” in ivory. See below for a description of the dream day and the gorgeous photos captured by The Observatory: Noteworthy Documentary Photographers.

From Lili:

The weekend was filled with many wonderful moments and laughs.  We kicked-off the festivities on Friday with a vineyard tasting at Chrysalis for our guests, followed by a family rehearsal dinner in the Equestrian Barn at Salamander. Later that evening, we hosted a large dessert and cocktail party for all our friends and family in the Resort’s Library.  On Saturday morning, Tom took some adults and kids to a nearby Paintball facility while I hosted champagne and snacks in the spa.

Our guests arrived for the wedding at 4:30 on Saturday and were greeted with champagne and lemonade.  The ceremony was under a beautiful tent, filled with flowers, overlooking the fields and stable.  It was very personal and warm and contained many touching moments, such as all guests hugging each other at the start of the ceremony; our friends and family performing heart-felt readings and songs (one of which was performed by Tom’s brother); lighting candles in remembrance of our parents; special recognition of each of our boys when they signed a picture of the resort (later to be a special memento) and received a customized horseshoe and giant candy bar; and exchanging of public and secret vows between Tom and me. The reception was in the Grand Ballroom which was draped in beautiful sheers and pin spotting from the ceiling and filled with candles, crystals and flowers over-flowing onto the tables.  To kick-off the dinner, the “Dunn-Kiernan” family was introduced by our close friends and each boy had their own individual entrance. After a few heartfelt and hilarious toasts, including a modified rendition of the “Brady Bunch” song from my close friend, dancing  immediately began and the kids quickly over-took the floor.  However, the adults followed shortly thereafter, clearly enjoying the talented and energetic 10 piece band.  The joyous celebration went into the early morning and all had a great time!

The next morning, we hosted a brunch and thanked all of our guests for sharing in our special weekend.  Our family then enjoyed a quiet day together and went for a horseback ride followed by a cozy dinner in town.

Indeed, it was a special, magical wedding weekend in Middleburg that we will forever remember and cherish.

Take care,
