We recently returned from NYC for New York Bridal Fashion Week. We attend this event twice a year to see the latest collections from our very talented designers. Once again we we’re blown away by all the stunning gowns. Each of our designers has their own special touch that makes their collections truly unique. Here’s a recap of the trends for 2017 that we love.
Ines Di Santo gave us a touch of sweetness and a pinch of spice. She used delicate vines, petite flowers and lace overlay to create a collection in which the beauty emerges quietly. Her gowns are deceptively simple, meant to be admired surrounded by family and friends.
The inspiration for the new BERTA collection was derived from the variety that can be found in the world of flowers. The gowns feature 3D flowers and lace appliques, rich embellishments and a brave use of color. From boho to art deco, to rich and glamorous, they each tell a different story while maintaining the famous BERTA fit and cut.
At the Monique Lhuillier show, we saw youthful, fluid lines that deconstruct gowns into sheer negligees that embellish the body. Delicate tulles fall in layers, feathers float around sleeves, skirts cascade, organza folds and drapes. The extreme necklines and occasional daring slit add to the lingerie-inspired details.
